Eat Sweets, Eat Me
Wearable Art + Sculpture Project
The main idea of Eat Sweets/Eat Me was literally to make me as an artist as well as my audience uncomfortable. The way that I went about this was including my body as a literal part of the sculpture piece- without it, the concept is meaningless. When looking at a body, especially a female body, it is very easy to sexualize it- however there is still a feeling of discomfort when looking at (or displaying) body fat and rolls.

That Is NOT a Diamond
Chicago Zine Project
To make a mosaic, you need tiles broken into shapes. These shapes are placed strategically to create a bigger picture. Likewise, our experiences and emotions are pieced together to create our own unique existence. We can get so caught up on an event, however, that we forget about all of the other pieces. The narrative of my zine explores a very personal event of mine, and continuously brings in this imagery of diamonds. They lay inside the cube, as a metaphor that we must open up to each other to present this.
